Business Retention and Expansion Program Agendas

Designed for community leaders, the UNH Cooperative Extension Business Retention & Expansion program helps municipalities foster a friendly business climate and improve the competitiveness of local businesses. The program puts tools and know-how into the hands of community members who have the most to gain from an improved business climate.

UNH experts work with local leaders and volunteer to establish a self-sustaining program, providing comprehensive training, meeting facilitation, survey analysis, strategy support, and a Community Strategic Action Plan. A cohort of community members survey local business owners to identify concerns and barriers to survival and growth. The community’s leadership team and task force reviews the survey results and responds to immediate needs and concerns. The UNH Extension experts analyzes the survey results and prepares a report with recommendations for community leaders’ consideration. Community leaders and cohort will then begin the action-planning process.
