Smokey Bear Celebrates 75th Birthday
At Bethlehem Library
Bethlehem, NH, July 1, 2019 — Smokey Bear, as part of his 75th Anniversary celebration, will travel across the state and make a stop at Bethlehem Public Library! This free program will be held on Friday, July 12th at 1pm.
Smokey will ride in on a wildfire fire engine (a great touch-a-truck opportunity!), accompanied by a New Hampshire Forest Ranger. He will explain what it is like to be a Forest Ranger and the diverse type of work they do in the fields of law enforcement, wildfire detection, fire investigation, firefighter training, fire prevention education and wildfire suppression. Smokey will be available for pictures.
Bethlehem Fire Chief Jack Anderson will bring his fire truck too. He can’t wait to see Smokey!
Bethlehem Library was one of six libraries chosen by the NH State Library, NH Department of Natural Resources and NH Division of Forests & Lands for this special visit. This free program is part of eight weeks of summer reading programming at the library.
The Bethlehem Public Library serves the residents of Bethlehem, NH and is open six days per week. For more information, go to www.bethlehemlibrary.org or their Facebook page. All Library programs are free and open to the public.
