Meeting Minutes
Bethlehem Selectmen Office
September 23, 2015
Present: Chairman Culver, Selectman Glavac, Selectman Staples, Selectman Laleme.
At 5:33 Chairman Culver opened the meeting.
The Board opened the bids for 2323 Main Street. The bidders were: Donald Devine who bid $3,150.00 with a deposit of $630.00, David McCullough who bid $4,285.00 with a deposit of $850.00, and Lahouts Apartments and Mini-Storage who bid $4,800.00 with a deposit of $960.00. Selectman Laleme moved to accept the bid for Map 206 Lot 14 from Lahouts for $4,800.00. Selectman Glavac seconded. Carried 4-0. Mr. McCullough took his $850.00 deposit with him when he left.
The Board discussed whether or not to allow an escrow account to be set up for bidders on a property that the IRS is auctioning. The escrow would be for the taxes owed and would be returned to the bidder if the former owner redeemed in the 180 right of redemption period. Selectman Laleme moved to allow the escrow and attach a fee of $100.00 to the bidder to cover expenses. Selectman Glavac seconded. Carried 4-0.
Selectman Laleme said we need to look into getting the flag pole painted and the flower garden in front of the Town Building weeded. She said it needs to be cleaned up out front. Chairman Culver said we are also getting quotes for rugs to be cleaned and will talk with Brett about Kevin doing the gardens and the flag pole.
Cheryl Jensen asked about hanging up a couple of maps in the meeting room and said she will ask Kevin to do it.
The Board discussed an email they received from North Country Council about the Rail Line from Littleton to Bethlehem and the possibility of turning that section into a rail trail. The Board said they would discuss it at the next meeting.
At 5:45 Chairman Culver moved to adjourn. Selectman Laleme seconded. Carried 4-0.
