White Mountains Activities – Just Be in Bethlehem, NH

Wondering what to do in the White Mountains when your base is Bethlehem, NH? There’s hiking, biking, skiing, golf, shopping, golf, snowmobiling, skiing, and a variety of activities for every season…winter, summer, spring, and fall.

Spend a day on the mountains, take a quick dip in the town pool or local river, enjoy an afternoon dining and shopping our Main Street.

Hiking Trails

Bethlehem has more hiking trails than you can count in a 360-degree radius around Bethlehem, and the Appalachian Trail is just up the road. Whether you’re looking to climb to new heights to enjoy the fall foliage or work up a sweat on a hot summer day, there are endless trails to explore.

Biking in Northern New Hampshire

And biking is great year round. We have almost 100 miles of mountain bike trails, which also get groomed for fat tire riding in the winter, and we have over 100 miles of road routes for all levels through the scenic White Mountains and amazing gear and loaner facilities. It’s no wonder we were certified by the League of American Bicyclists as a Bike Friendly Community.

Local Basketball & Tennis Courts

Brush up on your basketball and tennis skills at our local courts, all of which are free and open to the public.

Winter Activities in the White Mountains

In the winter, snowmobile and cross-country skiing trails run throughout town, and both Bretton Woods and Cannon Mountain are just a short ride away. Bethlehem sports not one, but two Christmas tree farms. Start a wonderful family tradition of selecting and harvesting your own Christmas tree at either Finnegan’s Fine Firs or The Rocks Estate.

Plan Your Visit

Although Bethlehem retains its small-town flavor, it has become a home for many artists and musicians and is making its mark in the arts community. Catch an independent film or energy filled live concert at the Colonial Theatre or explore town center on the First Friday of each month as multiple galleries welcome new artists.

Whether you are empty nesters, a family of five, or headed out on a solo trip for the first time, just be assured that we will welcome you to our community with open arms. And if you want to try something new, check out our Gear Library which loans outdoor gear for free!
