The Bethlehem Heritage Society presents “Memories of Lewis Airfield in Littleton”
Tuesday, October 12th at 6:30 pm at the Durrell Church, 2057 Main St., Bethlehem, NH
Alan Jackson, Heritage Society member and long-time resident of Bethlehem will be presenting his
Memories of the Lewis Airfield in Littleton. Alan’s family lived on the town line of Littleton on the Brook Rd. and when he was a teenager, he spent many days at the airfield. The airfield was located on Railroad St. which made it a convenient walk for Alan.
Carroll Lewis developed this airfield in 1945 for light aircraft, for flight instruction and charter flying by the Aero-New England Associates which consisted of James F. Bolles of Littleton and Harry E. Bassett, Jr., and Gordon Baker, both of Keene.
Bethlehem Hotel owners and guests used this airport to go back and forth to New York as well as many business members of surrounding communities.
Please come and join us in an interesting story of the airfield that was near all of us 75 years ago.
