Bethlehem Board of Selectmen
Meeting Minutes
Bethlehem Town Building Meeting Room
March 19, 2013
Present: Chairman Blanchard, Selectman Fiorentino, Selectman Laleme, Selectman Glavac, Selectmen Culver (arrived at 5:35).
Chairman Blanchard opened the meeting at 5:05.
Frank Claffey asked the Board to authorize a Tan for 1.5 million through 12/31/13. Frank told the Board that he has 3 banks bidding for it and will let the Board know which bank as soon as he knows. Selectman Culver said we need the TAN because people are not paying their taxes and if they paid we wouldn’t need a TAN. He also said this is why the Town has to lien and deed property. Selectman Culver moved that we authorize the TAN. Selectman Laleme seconded. Frank said he will let the Board know on Monday what the rate will be. Carried 5-0.
Chairman Blanchard said he asked an electrician he knows to come check out the wiring at the Country Club and across the street at the park/rink. He said he will have him look at the flag pole also. Selectman Laleme said the wire at the Country Club is old wire but is dead wire. There has been one quote so far for the flag pole from JA Corey for $1,451.00.
Chairman Blanchard read a letter that was sent to the Police Dept. thanking officer Charette-Combs for his professionalism and assistance at an accident.
Chairman Blanchard asked the Board about the easement that Brenda is asking about. The Board discussed how the easement was on 116 and was because of the highway remediation situation. The easement has not been finalized because there is a question of fees if the Old Transfer Station lot were to be sold. Chairman Blanchard will call Brenda and get clarification on this.
Selectman Laleme said there is a leak in the roof of the Town Building and we are trying to get someone here ASAP to fix it.
Julian Czarny asked if the energy committee could be contacted to look into a solar light for the flag pole. Selectman Laleme said she is not sure if the committee is still active.
At 5:27 Chairman Blanchard moved to go into non-public session per 91A for matters of personnel and reputation.
At 6:42 Chairman Blanchard moved to adjourn. Selectman Glavac seconded. Carried 5-0.
Respectfully submitted,
April Hibberd
Administrative Assistant
