Meeting Minutes
Bethlehem Town Building Meeting Room
October 8, 2012
Present: Chairman Jerry Blanchard, Selectman Mike Culver, Selectman Sandy Laleme, Selectman Martin Glavac
Absent: Selectman Fiorentino
At 6:33pm Chairman Blanchard opened the meeting.
Chairman Blanchard asked Ellen Leavitt from BRLF to come before the Board to discuss a loan for Sovereign Journey. Ellen said the BRLF committee reviewed the application and agreed to the loan. Selectman Culver moved to approve the loan. Chairman Blanchard seconded. Selectman Culver asked Frank Claffey if he read it and was ok with it. Mr. Claffey said he did read it and was ok with it, that is was for operating expenses. Carried 4-0. The Board signed the loan documents.
Chairman Blanchard announced that the Board hired KRT as our new assessing firm.
The Board reviewed the minutes from 10/01/12 and 10/03/12.
Chairman Blanchard moved to accept the minutes as written for 10/01/12 & 10/03/12. Selectman Culver seconded. Carried 4-0.
Selectman Culver asked the Board about getting a wireless router for the Town Building. He said he had talked to Frank and April about the fact that when the library is closed the Town Building doesn’t have wireless. Selectman Laleme moved to get router for the Town offices. Chairman Blanchard seconded. Carried 4-0. Chief Ho-Sing-Loy asked if it could be made secure. Selectman Culver said that it can be password protected.
Julian Czarny asked with the Recreation Director resigning what would happen with the software she was looking to purchase. The Board told him it was already purchased and up and running.
Rita Farrell brought up the political signs to the Board. She was told by the Board that the political signs are on state property and not town property. Chairman Blanchard said the manager of the Country Club needs permission from the state to be able to mow that section. Rita also talked about the flower garden and gave the background on it. She pointed out that people in the past who worked on the garden never asked to have a sign acknowledging their work.
At 6:50 Selectman Culver motioned to go into non-public session per 91A for matters of personnel and real estate. Chairman Blanchard seconded. Carried 4-0. Chairman Blanchard did roll call with all members agreeing to go into non-public session.
The Board discussed personnel issues.
The Board discussed tax deeding.
At 8:20 Chairman Blanchard moved to come out of non-public session. Selectman Glavac seconded. Carried 4-0.
At 8:20 Chairman Blanchard moved to adjourn. Selectman Laleme seconded. Carried 4-0.
