Planning Board Meeting

Present: Anthony Rodrigues, Linda Moore, Mike Bruno, Kevin Roy, Sean Gawlick, and Jerry Blanchard

 

Absent: Alecia Loveless and Martie Cook

Anthony Rodrigues opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance at 6:00 pm and appointed Jerry as a voting member for tonight’s meeting.

 

The Board reviewed the minutes from 2/14/24. Jerry Blanchard motioned to accept the minutes as presented. Sean Gawlik seconded the motion, which passed 4-0. Linda and Kevin abstained.

 

Anthony turned the meeting over to Mike Bruno for the work session portion of the meeting.

 

Mike explained to the board that he reached out to Kaela Tavaras at North Country Council about training for the next board to learn the process to match applications to the new ordinances. Mike feels running through a few mock applications would be the best way to accomplish that.

 

He used an example from a previous meeting where he felt the Board didn’t quite know how to proceed and left the applicant hanging. He feels the board, as a whole, is not very familiar with Site Plan Review and thinks this is where the focus should be.

 

He cautioned the board not to memorize the regulations, but rather learn how to reference them and then used examples from the Ordinances.

 

It was suggested that the board ask Kaela for a flow chart/checklist.

 

Some suggestions for the training were home businesses, Hip Camp/Airbnb, and the Sinclair remediation.

 

Mike takes a minute to thank Anthony Rodrigues for his years of service on the Planning Board.

 

There being no further business Jerry Blanchard motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:45. Linda Moore seconded with all members voting favor.
