The meeting was called to order at 10:30 am.
The purpose of the meeting was to review a quote from Quality Name Plate, Inc for more Town Forest medallions.
Lindsay gave a brief summary and reminder of the Grunman Fund Grant that was awarded to the Commission last year. The Bethlehem Conservation Commission was awarded $4,000 to hire a Surveyor to identify, mark, and map the Town Forest boundaries. The estimated quote from the hired surveyor, Gardner Kellogg, is $3,400. This leaves $600 to cover the advertisement costs (for hiring a surveyor) and the medallions. The BCC savings account can also be used for work on the Town Forest.
Linda received the following quotes for medallions from Quality Name Plate, Inc. The BCC ordered from this company in 2005 and they still had the artwork on file. Linda estimated that we need approximately 125 medallions. We have 24 in storage, so we need to purchase at least 100 pieces.
For 100 pieces (medallions) – $2.80 each = $280
For 250 pieces (medallions) – $1.80 each = $450
A brief discussion ensued about the amount needed and all were in agreement that we did not need 250, but that 100 might be cutting it close in case we need to replace medallions.
Cheryl Jensen motioned to purchase 125 pieces at $2.80 each for $350.00. Linda seconded. Motion passed 4-0. (Nicole entered the meeting just after this motion passed.)
Linda mentioned that she visited the Town Gardens and expressed concern about the amount of work it would take for the Commission to take on a flower bed project. All members are encouraged to visit the site, as this topic will be on the agenda for discussion at the June 25th meeting.
Cheryl motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:46am, Linda seconded, 5-0.
